Terms of Hire
Permits
All skips are to be placed on private land. If private land is not available and your skip is to be placed on the public highway a skip hire permit will be required. Additional charges enforced by the relevant local authority will be applied in such instances, in addition to the cost of hire. All permits are chargeable to the customer. Should the permit be declined by the local authority, this charge is non-refundable. If you require a skip hire permit, please contact us prior to completing your booking online.
Hire period
All of our skips have a maximum 10 days rental period. If you require the skip for longer, there may be additional charges.
Property Access
At least 10ft width is needed to access your property – if you need this checking, please contact the GLMS Skip Hire team.
Delivery / Collection
Delivery on the day of hire will be between the hours of 07:00 and 16:00. Skip collections are between Monday and Friday only, excluding bank holidays. You are not required to be present on delivery unless you specifically want to be present to ensure the skip is placed in the correct location. Please ensure the location of where the skip is to be placed is accessible for a skip lorry and clear from obstruction for both delivery and collection.
Prohibited materials
Hazardous materials cannot be loaded into the skip, please visit our terms and conditions for more information on permitted waste streams for skip hire. Example materials are but not limited to:
- Paint Tins
- Plasterboard
- Asbestos
- Tyres
- Fridges / Freezers
Soil Waste
For all skips under 8 yards, the skip cannot be used for inert/soil waste unless agreed with the GLMS Skip Hire team – please contact us to check.
Same day delivcry
Same day delivery requires you to hire a skip before 12pm. If you hire a skip after 12pm, it will be delivered on the next working day.
